Paperless PTA
Apr 13th, 2010 by aldrinpta
The Aldrin PTA is going paperless in 2010-11!
This means we need your help to use less paper!
The PTA is planning to begin a paperless program in 2010-11, to reduce the amount of paper sent home, reduce Aldrin paper costs, and reduce volunteer hours. We will be using the tools we already have – our web site and e-mail newsletter – as a primary means of communication this year.
Be Paperless…help us use less paper!
Paperless Tip #1 - Create fewer flyers
If you are a volunteer that makes flyers for an activity or program, please consider making fewer/shorter/smaller flyers to save paper.
- Make double-sided copies when possible.
- “Share a Flyer” – consolidate your flyer with other flyers also being sent at the same time.
- Make your copies on ½ sheets of paper.
- Remember that your flyer can also be sent in the Sunday e-newsletter and posted on the web site, so consider if you really need to send the same flyer multiple times.
- For room parents, can you e-mail and call families instead of sending home paper flyers?
- Is your flyer something that can be simplified? Send only the necessary details on the flyer to use fewer pages, and include a link to the web site where the rest of the info can be located.
Paperless Tip #2 – Receiving E-mails/E-Newsletters
Sign up to receive the PTA e-newsletter. If you are not already receiving the Sunday e-newsletters, please CLICK HERE to subscribe. If you signed up to receive emails, but are not seeing them in your Inbox each week, it may be inadvertently going into your junk mail folder. To remedy this, simply check your junk mail folder and, if the Aldrin PTA e-mail is found, identify it as not being spam. Or simply add info@aldrinpta.com to your address book or safe list. If this does not resolve your issue, please email us at info@aldrinpta.com and we will verify that we have your correct email address.
Paperless Tip #3 – Visit the Web Site…Often!
Want to know what’s going on at Aldrin Elementary ? Need a copy of a form or flyer? There are TWO places to check for everything you need to know – the Aldrin Elementary School web site and here at the PTA web site. Both web sites include up-to-date information for current and upcoming events, as well as calendars and contact information.
Paperless Tip #4 – RECYCLE
If you do receive paper flyers in your Thursday Recorders, please remember to recycle them! If you do recycle one and find you need it later, you can always find it on the web site!
