			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: left;" align="center">Looking ahead to the 2012 – 2013 school year, the PTA is actively pursuing volunteers for the PTA Board as well as several Chair positions.  Please keep in mind that co-chairing positions is an option!  The specific openings for next year include:</p>
<p><strong>PTA Board: </strong></p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Recording Secretary</span> – Takes Notes at all Board Meetings and then distributes to Board Members.  There are usually 2 night time meetings a month; one general meeting and one for Board Members only.  In addition there is 1 meeting a month with the Administration for 1-2 hours.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">VP of Fundraising</span> – Manages all fundraising efforts to include direct contribution campaign and silent auction.  Manages Spirit Wear, Sally Foster, Book Fair, Dining for Dollars and Original Works Chairpersons.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">VP of Family Events</span> – Manages all family events, each of which should have a chairperson.  The events include:  International Night, Movie Night, Family Fun Dance and Popsicles on the Playground</p>
<p><strong>Chairpersons:</strong></p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Aldrin Directory </span>– Prepares the Aldrin Student Directory.  This involves updating the database and arranging the printing and distribution.  This job is done in the fall.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">After School Programs</span> – Manages all of the after school programs to include working with the vendors and registration.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Hospitality </span>– Coordinates welcome back luncheon for teachers (late summer), Thanksgiving luncheon, Teacher Appreciation Breakfast</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Orbiting around Buzz </span>– Organizes and publishes submissions for this Aldrin Student Literary Newsletter.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Science Fair</span> – Organizes the Science Fair with the Aldrin Administration.  The Science Fair takes place in the Spring and will require 1-2 months of activity.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Family Movie Night</span> – Organizes this Early Fall Event.  Works closely with the VP of Student Programs.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Family Fun Dance</span> – Plans this event in the Spring.  Works closely with the VP of Fundraising and Student Programs.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Co-Chair Reflections </span>– Helps organize Aldrin’s Reflections Program.  The Reflections Program is an arts recognition and achievement program for students. The Reflections Program provides opportunities for students to express themselves creatively and to receive positive recognition for original works of art inspired by a pre-selected theme, while increasing community awareness on the importance of the arts in education.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Hospitality </span>– Coordinates welcome back luncheon for teachers (late summer), Thanksgiving luncheon and Teacher Appreciation Breakfast (May).</p>

You are the designer and owner of your own amusement park. What is the name of your dream park? Where is it located? Describe the rides, entertainment, food and games. We can’t wait to visit!</p>
<p>Your submission can be as long as you want! It should be neatly written or typed. All entries will be published on-line through the Aldrin PTA website.</p>

<p>The date is set for <strong>Friday, March 9th</strong> and we are looking for volunteers for a variety of stations and time slots between 3-9pm.</p>
<p>Sponsored by the Aldrin PTA, the <strong>Family Fun Dance and Raffle/Auction</strong> is the biggest fundraiser for our school. For those of you new to the event, the fun dance is a family event, with dinner, a DJ in the gymnasium for the students, a raffle of class gift basket donations, and a silent auction of items/activities generously donated by our local community and our Aldrin faculty.  <strong>Our event can only be successful with lots of support from you, our parent volunteers.</strong></p>
